Pizza Amore: The Sauce

What's a pizza without the sauce? Well … technically you can have a sauce-less pizza (they are quite good), but usually you'll have some sort of sauce sitting atop your dough. I realize the sheer variety of sauces that can be used on pizza is mind boggling. You can have a tomato sauce, a béchamel sauce, a pesto sauce, a hot sauce, and so on and so forth. Pizzas are beyond varied when it comes to sauces, but the most common is the tomato based sauce, which is what I'll be making.

Pizza Amore: The Dough

Pizza; everything you need in one convenient package. What's not to like? Pizza can be made in so many ways that it's hard to imagine anyone not liking it. You can go meat, no meat, cheese, no cheese, sauce, no sauce, savory, sweet (dessert pizzas are real) … the possibilities are endless, which is what makes pizza so great. I mean, you can have all your major food groups in one simple, delicious dish. Oh pizza, how I love thee.

Guacamole or Avocado's True Purpose

Ahhh avocados. Such a wonderful fruit. And while it can be used for a variety of things, I let those suckers ripen up and then smash them down into oblivion. Hmm … I just realized my first two posts involve mashing fruit. I promise that won't always be the case :)

Anyway, a good guacamole is pretty simple; anyone can do it. You just need fresh ingredients and a little time.

Going Ape for Banana Bread

Considering my name, what's more appropriate for my first recipe post than banana bread? It combines both cinnamon and … well … monkeys of course :)

I love bananas. There I've said it. This will not and I repeat will not be my last post involving bananas. There will be more, but banana bread is one of my favorites and is the perfect way to start things off.
